Saint Mary Magdalene

Mary Magdalene was a friend of Jesus who followed Him and helped Him. She stayed close to Him even when He died on the cross. Early on Easter morning, she went to His tomb and found it empty. She was crying, when someone said, “Mary!” It was Jesus, alive! Jesus sent her to tell the apostles the good news, so she is called “the apostle to the apostles”. She is in this Sunday’s Gospel.

Did you know? She is often shown with a little jar of perfume, the kind used to anoint Jesus’ body.

Be like Mary Magdalene: Tell someone the best news of all: Jesus is alive!

Saint Mary Magdalene, pray for us!
