Easter Sunday
“He saw and he believed.” John 20:8
Liturgical colour: White & goldFor grown-ups
Easter morning begins in the dark. Mary Magdalene finds the stone rolled away, Peter and the beloved disciple run to the tomb, and what they find is an empty space and some linen cloths. The Gospel says of one of them, “He saw and he believed.” Peter in Acts then tells how God raised Jesus, and Paul invites us to set our hearts on what is above.
Faith often starts like that: not with a thunderclap but with noticing. Young children believe easily and will happily tell you that Jesus is alive. Let their joy lead the day. Easter is not one Sunday but a whole season, so there is time for feasting, for alleluias that come back after Lent, and for the quiet work of letting resurrection shape how we treat each other at home: forgiving quickly, starting fresh, and expecting good things.
