Saint Juan Diego

Juan Diego was a humble man in Mexico. One cold December morning, on a hill called Tepeyac, Mary appeared to him and asked for a church to be built there. The bishop wanted a sign, so Mary told Juan Diego to gather flowers from the hilltop, where nothing usually grew in winter. He found beautiful roses! When he opened his cloak in front of the bishop, the roses tumbled out, and on the cloak was a picture of Mary.

Did you know? Juan Diego’s cloak with Mary’s picture is still in the great church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

Be like Juan Diego: Do what God asks, even if you feel small, just like Juan Diego.
