Saint Stephen

After Jesus went back to heaven, the apostles chose seven helpers called deacons. Stephen was one of them. His job was to make sure the widows and poor families had enough food. Stephen was full of God’s grace and told everyone about Jesus with great courage. Some people were angry and did not want to listen, and Stephen died for Jesus. Just like Jesus, he prayed for the people who hurt him: “Lord, do not hold this against them.”

Did you know? Stephen’s feast is the day after Christmas, the day of the carol “Good King Wenceslas”.

Be like Stephen: Forgive someone, and say a prayer for them.
