Saint George

George lived long ago, about seventeen hundred years ago. He was a brave soldier in the Roman army. George loved Jesus very much. When the emperor ordered Christians to stop praying to Jesus, George would not stop. He told everyone he was a Christian, even when it was dangerous. In the end, George gave his life for Jesus, and the Church has remembered him ever since. People tell a story of a dragon too, to show how brave and good he was.

Did you know? A story says George rescued a town from a dragon. It is a legend, but it shows his courage, and he is the patron saint of England.

Be like George: Be brave this week: stand up kindly for someone who is being left out, or say your prayers even when your friends are watching.
