Saint Andrew Dung-Lac and companions

brave Christians of Vietnam · feast day 24 November

Long ago in Vietnam, a country not far from Singapore, it was against the law to be a Christian. Andrew Dung-Lac was a priest who kept teaching about Jesus and celebrating Mass in secret. He and many friends, priests, catechists, mothers and fathers, stayed faithful to Jesus even when it was dangerous, and they gave their lives for Him. The Church remembers 117 of them as saints, and today the Church in Vietnam is full of people who love Jesus.

Did you know? A palm branch is the sign of a martyr, someone who gave their life for Jesus.

Be like the Vietnamese martyrs: Pray for Christians in places where it is hard to go to Mass.

Holy martyrs of Vietnam, pray for us!
