Getting ready for Jesus
Advent at home
Advent begins on Sunday 29 November
Light the wreath at dinner each Sunday of Advent, and hang one Jesse Tree ornament each day from 1 to 24 December: the story of God’s promises, from Creation to Bethlehem.
Our Advent wreath
The candles light up by themselves each Sunday. Tap a candle to light it at dinner!
Week 1: Hope
Blessing the wreath (first Sunday)
A parent says: Lord God, please bless this wreath. As we light its candles, help us get ready for Jesus, the Light of the World, who is coming at Christmas. Amen. Then sing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and light the first candle.
The Jesse Tree
Tap today’s number to read the story, then hang the ornament. 0 of 24 on the tree.
